What we keep, and what we do not.

Who this covers

This policy describes what Halden stores when you use this site. Halden is a small object house. You do not need an account to shop.

What we store

The bag is an httpOnly cookie on this browser. It holds the pieces you set aside. It is not an account.

Checkout stores the name, email, phone if you give one, and the shipping address needed to fulfill the order. Stripe processes the card. Halden does not store the card number.

The journal signup stores only the email address you submit. Order records also keep the pieces, the amount paid, and the profit on the order.

Why we store it

We use the order details to charge through Stripe, to send the order confirmation, and to pass the ship-to address to the maker or supplier who fulfills the piece.

We use a journal email only to send occasional notes about the floor. We do not add you to that list from a purchase alone.

We do not sell personal data.

Who else sees it

Stripe receives the payment details it needs to charge the card and to send its own receipt.

The maker or supplier who fulfills an order receives the name and shipping address, and the piece to send. They do not receive your card.

If an order email is sent, the email provider receives the address and the message. That send is for the order, not for marketing.

How long it stays

Order records stay as long as we need them for the order, a refund, or a tax record. A journal email stays until you ask us to remove it. The bag cookie stays on this browser until it expires or you clear it.

Asking about your data

Write to hello@thehaldengoods.com and name the address on the order. You can ask what we hold, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete a journal signup. The studio mailbox is not receiving mail yet, so a request sent there will not be read until that mailbox is connected.
